In 2009, friends Riz Smith and Ali Murrell decided there was a need for something better in the men's swimwear market. Riz has worked for many years designing swimwear for various global sports and fashion brands, and Ali recently returned from sailing the Pacific where he witnessed the plastic pollution crisis in our oceans. Together, they set out to build a brand with the aim of creating "The most beautiful and sustainable shorts in the world." Riz was born from this need, the materials are all recycled from plastic.
